Shredder Action Figure

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Shredder Action Figure

Shredder Action Figure
Whenever we get new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles figures it is inevitable that we get a new version of the Shredder, also. Originally conceived by Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird when imagining a guy who wore cheese graters for armor, the Shredder has become one of the most recognizable and popular archenemies in cartoons and comic books. While these new toys by Playmates are based on the upcoming animated series from Nickelodeon, the designs of turtles almost remind me more of a blend of various comic book designs. Looking at Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Shredder action figure, he also reminds me of the Shredder in his recent appearances in the new IDW comic book series. Sure, Shredder action figure has a pretty standard look, but the all white eyes and the shape of the helmet really like that new comic art.

Shredder's head sculpt is pretty decent. His face is all covered, but the shape of the helmet is good and the all white eyes are really creepy. Not only is he just an imposing guy covered in blades, but the eyes give him a bit of a supernatural vibe. The upper body articulation isn't bad. The arms have a decent range of motion that does allow Shredder Action Figure to take a variety of poses with either his accessories or attached blades. Shredder is very noticeably taller than the Turtles or other figures in the line, which is true to how he's typically depicted.

My son loves having Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Shredder action figure to fight against his ninja turtles. It doesn't have pieces that can be swallowed by my younger son, so this is a great toy all the way around!

Donatello Action Figure

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Donatello Action Figure

Donatello Action Figure
Undeterred by the noticeable third toe, I threw down and bought Donatello & Michelangelo on a whim. I have to say, to see the difference in the sculps of the Turtles was a welcome sight. Different most of the turtle toys, each of the brothers has very unique characteristics about them, going beyond the simple mask colors and the weapons with them. So here is Donatello Action Figure.

Donatello is at least a head taller than Michelangelo, and has a much longer and leaner build. His skin tone isn't my favorite for him - I'm used to seeing him with a more olive skin tone as opposed to this avocado color. It isn't bad, but just different. The articulation is pretty good, and Donatello Action Figure can take a good variety of stances. His carapace is made of a soft bendy plastic - this can be seen as both a weakness and strength, as this allows for more movement of the legs; however it’s so flexible that I can imagine it being accidentally ripped off by a kid. The belt material is also soft plastic. One thing parents should be aware of is that the heads of these turtles, while highly posable, can easily pop off. Thankfully, they pop back on just as easily.

All in all, for a long time Turtle fan, I'm pretty happy with this design of
Donatello Action Figure. It's a better sculp than the 2003 blocky version of the Turtles, it gives each turtle their own unique physical attributes, and hey - you got to love a Turtle with both brains and brawn. Highly recommended!
